The plating that makes the chrome parts is pretty and exceptionally durable, but did you know that...?
The chrome finish on any part for use in the home or in automobiles is not harmless. It is done by using a compound called Chrome+6 that is harmful to health and to the environment.
For years, the environmental and safety measures imposed by NA (and backed by law) have mitigated its harmful effects, but the misuse of Chrome+6 and its dumping can pollute wells and rivers and be harmful to the health of humans.

Even today, the risk of using this Chrome+6 technology – especially in countries that base their competitiveness on vague policies regarding the health of people and of the environment (and that reaches Europe via imported Danish, Italian or Spanish brands) – can provoke a disaster, both environmental and humanitarian, at any time.

In recent years, a chromium technology has been developed that avoids all these problems with Chrome+3, which is based on nature’s own chemistry. Because it is a pioneering technology and difficult to implement, it is hardly used (except in the automotive industry). Nevertheless, it avoids all these significant problems for the environment.
Chrome+3 exists naturally in nature (it is even an element that is necessary for our body to keep us healthy) and can be applied to achieve a chrome finish with exactly the same quality as the Chrome+6 finish, without running any of the risks inherent to it.

Navarro Azorín will not wait for distant future European legislation to avoid the risks of using Chrome+6 in its manufactured products. From May 2022, NA will change its entire chrome-plating process to Chrome+3, being a company that is a pioneer in using this sustainable technology that is respectful of people and of the environment.
